Almost ready for the off!

4 days to go till we (me, Louise and Sam) set off on our Coast to Coast walk following in the footsteps of the great Alfred Wainwright (and many, many more good people since!).

Sam (our 7 year old) is keen to get going after spending the weekend getting all the kit ready but has 3 days of school to go.

We will try to update this blog each day from Thursday 4th July 2013 when we leave home and get the train to St Bees. We are staying at Ellerbeck Manor (picture above) on the Thursday night so we can get an early start on day one - St Bees to Cleator.

The weather is forecast to be mostly dry and sunny which is great news and fully jusitifies the huge expenditure on wet weather gear!
